I am the Chief Operating Officer of Results Direct. We build Web applications, do design work, and maintain IT systems for associations and non-profits, as well as working with a few powerhouses like Verizon Long Distance and Marriott. We have offices in Tucson, Arizona and Alexandria, Virginia. My roles include Strategic Planning, Administration/HR, Accounting and Financial Planning, Project Management, and Process Change. I started with the company as the Director of Development Services running the application development team followed by several years as the Director of Operations, a precursor to my current role.

Before joining Results Direct, I worked for a terrific company called DesertNet. They build Web publishing systems, primarily aimed at the alternative weekly newspaper niche. I helped draft the initial business plans before the company was birthed as a part of the Tucson Weekly, and then was brought on board when the company was launched as it's own operation.

It was a terrific ride with some talented people, including Wil Gerken, Amy Burnham Greiner, Rick Hoffman, Molly Holzschlag, John Banks, and Doug Biggers. I started out as the Administrative Director and ended my time there as the Director of Client Services. I also spent several years as the managing editor of Weekly Wire, an online publication that DesertNet created and published, pulling content from some of the largest alternative newspapers throughout the country.

Before entering the Web business in 1996, I spent time building a music distribution company, music-oriented BBS system, and then migrating into small business hardware and software consulting under the moniker Big City Entertainment. It was a great experience with some terrific friends and partners, Wil Gerken (later to be CEO at DesertNet), Marx Loeb, Carl Damhesel, and the guy that made it all possible, my dad Rodney Floyd. It was basically an MBA under fire. My transition to hardware and software was done with my good friend Paul Curtis at my side. Someday we'll work together again--we're opposite sides of the same coin.

I also spend alot of my free time consulting with friends and friends of friends, helping them think about the implementation of technology, financial planning for small business, marketing concepts, and operational efficiency.

Starting all that off was the 4 years I spent at the University of Arizona where I was awarded a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance. It was a hectic 4 years, as I was also sharing the duties of raising my first daughter with my wife while she finished her Psych degree and I played in bands and did studio work, which leads me to...

...my real love, music. Head over here and find out more about that.
